My future Olympian

Anyone that knows my family should know that we are a little nuts when it comes to gymnastics! HA! My sisters and I grew up doing gymnastics and I did it from the time I could probably walk! Anyway, I have taken Sugie to a class before but I didn't really like the gym and it was a little too much structure at the time that I took her. The other gym in our area only has morning classes for her age but on Friday mornings they have open gym so I took her today. She had a blast and acted like she had been doing it all of her life. I think she has it in her blood. :) I only had my phone for pics so a lot of them are blurry but you will get the idea.

First she practiced the bars
and then the beam. There was also floor exercise but I didn't get any pics.

Now my olympian is going to have to get a little more serious because truth be told is that she had the most fun jumping on the trampoline

Doing knee drops and
jumping
and jumping.
Her other favorite was the pit.
I think she is ready for the summer and to be jumping in the pool again. Guess my olympian is going to need to get more serious about her training! HA! :)

Surviving being a mom of two

So everyone keeps asking me, "So, how is it having two." To be honest it is about what I expected and easier than some people make it out to be so far. HOWEVER, I really think it will be more challenging when McKenzie is 6 months and Bailey is 2 1/2. :) Mostly becuase other than needing to eat pretty often then McKenzie is pretty easy becuase she sleeps so much. :) I think the real key to surviving the first few weeks as a new mom or a new mom to more kids is just worry about nothing else. I just take time enjoying my kids and don't worry about the house, the bills, the laundry, nada! Now my house is a wreck and it took me like 3 days to get some laundry done but WHO CARES!! HA! I hate housework anyway!

Now, I have been cheating a little with the mom of 2 thing because I do take Bailey to the sitters some days. I sort of look at it as my mothers day out and a chance to run errands without a 2 year old in tow. Grocery shopping with Bailey is no fun AT ALL if it is going to take more than about 20/30 minutes. I sortof think she will go to the sitters 2 or 3 days a week and I will keep her home the other days. I could take her everyday if I wanted but I do enjoying having both of them with me at home.

Today we had our first big outing with friends to the zoo and I am exhausted. We ended up staying a lot longer than I had planned and so we are all very tired. I was at one point that lady with two screaming children at the zoo! I sortof feel like I should take some of the blame becuase I knew Bailey was getting tired and hungry and I should have woken Mckenzie up to feed her but like a Rookie mom I ignored all this and ended up with two screaming babies in tow! HA! I think my friends tried to act like they didn't know me. Actually I was just trying to get to the nearest place to sit down and get a boob in McKenzie's mouth and some food in Bailey's belly. Other than that moment though it was a pretty good trip. I really wish Bailey liked the stroller becuase having to chase her and walk at a snails pace is a little annoying. :) Anyway, I thought I would leave you with a group pic I took today. We had 4 adults and 8 kids under the age of 3 with us and this pic pretty much sums it up. HA! :)

Gigi Visit and First Real Bath

Gigi was in town visiting her sisters and parents this weekend so she stopped by for a visit! McKenzie and Sugie were glad she came. :)

Gigi and McKenzie

Actually Gigi's sister Ronda was with her and Sugie climbed right up on her lap and took over her iphone! I guess you can say she isn't shy!

McKenzie finally had her first real bath! Her cord didn't fall off until Thursday and then on Friday at the doctor she had to put some medicine on it because she still had some cord left. Anyway, it is finally gone so she could enjoy a real bath. I thought for sure she would scream her head off because she hates being naked but she just laid their as content as can be.

Although she would only look away from me.

So, I finally just took a picture of the mirror! Silly McKenzie or as we call her "sister bear". You know no one in this house goes by their real name.

Sugie thought giving her a bath was quite hilarious! :)

This is the sign in their bathroom. I hope it is really true one day and they are the best of friends. :)

McKenzie's First Zoo Trip

I know, I know, another zoo post! HA! I warned you there would be more and besides it was McKenzie's first trip to the zoo. She had a great time riding in the sling and sleeping! :) I can tell you that carrying her in the sling is easier than carrying her around in my womb all over the zoo. :)
Me, McKenzie, Sugie and the Chimps

This is pretty much how McKenzie enjoyed her first zoo trip. :)

Ahhh...nice and snug and sleeping!

Of Course big sister Sugie had a blast! She even wore her new Giraffe outfit that Aunt Mel got her for Christmas.

Hmmm...are you real?

It is so much fun now that she is starting to recognize and name the animals. "Elephants! Elephants!" It is so cute how she says it too. It is more like "L phunts"

I thought it was pretty funny watching this giraffe drink.
Daddy, the Giraffe and Sugie in her Giraffe girl outfit

Of course we had to ride the carousel! I think we will have rode all the animals before long.

Of course my other "child" enjoyed himself too. Here he is having a heart to heart with Patrick the gorilla

See any resemblance? HA!

2 weeks and around the house

Wow! It one way it seem like 2 weeks was just yesterday and in another way it seems like McKenzie has been with us forever! :) She had a her 2 week checkup and everything is going good. She weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was still 20 inches. She had to have that horrible newborn screen were they prick there heel and draw out what seems like 6 pints of blood! Poor thing! Glad that is over with! At least with the shots you can pick them up right away! McKenzie still seems to be much like Sugie. She eats, is alert, sleeps, and then repeat. She hates having her diaper and clothes changed. She is a fast eater like Sugie.
What you looking at monkey?

Sugie is still doing well. She has been working on her tricycle riding with daddy in the garage and can just about do ride it with pushing the pedals. So, hopefully she will have that by the spring. She has her moments were she will love on and want to hold her sister and then the next minute is really rough with her and has even hit her a few times. Sometimes I think her concept of "gentle" is a little off since Duke can take quite a bit of abuse! All in all I would say she is doing a great job. She has also slept great this week which has really helped with her mood. She also went to Marjorie's house quite a bit this week and I think that help her have something familiar that was like her old routinue. :) Also, I swear everyday she says about 20 new words and keeps us laughing all the time!

Cousin Visit

My sister, Melody, and her kids made it out this weekend for a visit! They have been dying to come but becuase of their busy schedules and the crazy weather they just made it out! McKenzie was very bright eyed when they first arrived. This is pretty much how she is after I feed her during the day! Just chilled and wide awake!

My bright eyed girl!

Just Chillin!

McKenzie and Mason. What is scary is that it seems like just yesterday that Mason was this little and next year he will be in high school. :(

Relaxin' with mace

Then just like clock work she eats, stays awake for awhile and then gets sleepy and if you don't swaddle her up then....

Well she isn't too hapy like in this picture.

Ahhh...that is better...all swaddled and Kelsey to love on me.

Duke needed some love too

Thanks for coming Mel and taking all the pics!

Sugie enjoyed the visit too, although, I think her favorite part was the cupcakes! Yummy! :)

Sneak Peek of my big baby

When McKenzie had her photo shoot on Friday I had to stop for a minute and feed McKenzie. Bailey was in playing around with Lindsey and she took a few pics. She posted this one of my sweet, big baby on Facebook. Ahhh...I love that girl to pieces. :)

Warm Weather and Sneak Peek on Photo Shoot

Yipee for warmer weather! It is suppose to be in the 70s all week. This is very good for my soul. I hate the cold and gloomy weather! This afternoon we walked up to the park!

McKenzie bundled up and ready for the park...peek a boo...

This is how she enjoyed the walk and the park....snoozin...

The trip to the park was really about this little girl. yes her hair is a mess. I would love to blame it on the weather but it is starting to look like this quite a bit lately! HA! As Sugie would say, "Its a mess" I have thought of taking her to have it cut at one of those places where you sit in the car but just haven't done it yet and I am not sure I ready to cut it.

Swinging like my big girl

Hey there Sugie!
On Friday we took McKenzie to have professional pics done. The lady who did them was the same lady who took Sugie's pics back in the summer. She posted a few on facebook tonight but I will be getting the whole CD of all of them soon! :) Anyway, thought I would share a few. If you live local you should check her out. She offers reasonable rates and does a great job. http://www.lindseycombsphotography.com/
