La Leche League Conference.

I went to the La Leche League conference this weekend and it was a fun time and I was able to learn more stuff.  I have been going to LLL meetings since I was pregnant with Bailey.  LLL has been the biggest support group in nursing and mothering my children.  I went to my first meeting expecting to see a bunch of crazy women sitting around nursing their 5 year olds but what I found instead were women like me who just wanted to succeed in nursing their babies.  People often say to me, "You are so lucky to have had such an easy time breastfeeding and are able to feed your babies for so long."  I also laugh because while I have not had some of the issues that some women face I would not exactly label the road as easy.  I think it is sort of like saying to a long distance runner, "You must have it so easy to be able to run so far for so long."  Ha!  The road of breastfeeding is not always easy but it has been proven time and time again to be what is best for mom and for baby.  The rewards and pay off are also rewarding.  :)  I also have friends that feel like I may be a breastfeeding nazi.  HA!  I really don't mean to come across that way!  I am just passionate about it and I want everyone women who WANTS to breastfeed to be successful!

This is me with some of my LLL friends and Marian Thompson.  She was one of the founding members of LLL.  She along with 6 other women started meeting back in the 50s to talk about breastfeeding and mothering when nursing your babies was definelty not popular.  They had no idea what they would create.  They were just trying to look for support and encouragement from other mothers.  Anyway, if you want to look for a a great support group for breastfeeding and mothering then find a LLL group in your area.  http://www.llli.org/web/texas.html

Family

The other day when we went to the children's museum Bailey worked for probably 20 mintues very hard to gather up these ducks.  She would get a few of them and then another kid would take one of them or they would float again.  There were a lot of ducks on the water table and I wondered what exactly she was doing.

Then she came over, with her hands as full as can be and said, "I got my family."  I asked her what the ducks names were and one of the big ones was "Mommy" the other big one was "Daddy" the first baby one was "Sugie" and the last baby one was "sister." SHe told me, "The ducks are all together now and they are happy."  It warmed my soul.  I love our little family too Sugie bear.  I love when we are all together and getting to do stuff.  I love that you like your sister to do everything with us.  I just love it so much my little Sugie and I love you too!

Too Fast

Before I had Mckenzie I had people tell me that your second child grows up even faster than the first.  I didn't believe them but now I do.  Mckenzie just seems to be growing up so fast and doing things that just seem so big.

She already loves to play dress up.  SHe knows where the dress up clothes are and brings them to me to put them on.  It is so cute.  She also puts on the little high heeled dressup shoes and likes to hear them click on the tile.  It cracks me up.  Bailey was not intersted in dress up until well after she was 2.  In fact right befroe she turned 2 I had to trick her into wearing her Halloween costume! HA!

SLOW DOWN sister!  You are growing up too fast! :)

Blueberry Hill

On Saturday we went to Bluebery Hill.  We did not see Swiper but we did get 2 gallons of blueberries!  :)  That may sound like a lot but you have obviously never met these 2 blueberry loving monsters.  I will buy a pint and it has been known to be gone before we leave the store. :)

Sister looked so cute with her bucket. :)

Sugie did a great job of picking only the ripe ones.

We all ate a few (or alot) along the way. :)

Sister loved picking the blueberries.  About 1/2 of them were ripe. :)

We kind of got a late start to the day so it was pretty toasty by the time we got there but the girls still had fun and Sugie was picking them all the way until the end.

This is what we all looked like when we were done.  Sweaty monkeys!  Lucikly they had blueberry frozen yogurt and it was AWESOME!

Sister liked it too.  She was cooled off because she poured cups of water on her head. HA!

This is how it has looked around here this afternoon and evening.  These 2 blueberry monsters eating away! :)

Children's Museum

We went to the Children's Museum in Dallas on Thursday.  We had a lot of fun but for some reason I always feel diasppointed with that museum.  We haven't even been since Bailey was a Bailey and probably won't go again for a while.  It is expensive and they just don't seem to maintain things.  I was helping Bailey go to the bathroom and Mckenzie was picking up broken tiles that were on the bathroom floor and throwing them!  Yikes!  Anyway, here is the pics from our day.

Beautiful start to the summer

It's June!  Crazy how time flies by right now.  Anyway, the weather has actually been pleasant for the beginning of June in Texas.  So, we have been taking some trips to the parks in the neighborhood.

And stopping along the way to pick some flowers.

Mckenzie taking her shoes off and playing in the dirt as usual!

Bailey being brave and climbing the wall.  This thing is TALL!  If you have small children and their Dad doesn't take them to the park then make sure that he does!  I think it is really good for kids. Bailey has been learning to climb this wall since she turned 2.  I am not sure that I would have let her try when she was that young but you know how dads are.  They worry a little less. :)  I am sure Mckenzie will be climbing that thing as soon as her legs are long enough to reach  the pegs becasuse that girl is part chimp!

Museum Take 2

ON Thursday we went back to the children's museum in Commerce!  It is such a fun place with so much stuff to do.  We were there 3 hours and still didn't do everything!  We had gone back in December but it was more fun this time now that Mckenzie could walk around and enjoy things!

SHe loved this magnetic board a lot!  Perhaps I need her daddy to make one.

Bailey pushing the bell on the railroad crossing!

She went over and put her head in this and said, "Mommy take my picture!" HA!

This girl loves some sand!  Can't wait until we go to the peach.

Phoenix and his mom and brother went with us too.  He was in charge at mission control.

Sugie seeing if she can feel the shoes of a fireman.

Our neighbor Joyce and her son Sean went with us too.  Him and Mckenzie are a few months apart.

Bailey did her usual shopping.  She goes shopping with me so much she should be able to get all the groceries, use her coupons and price match by now.

Sister joined in the sand fun. :)

Ride 'Um cowgirl!

Mckenzie with shoes on her feet!  It was a fun time and I am sure we will be back soon!
