The End

I think it is safe to say that Bailey is done nursing. I really thought it would be a more emotional experience but we were both ready and it seemed to just work itself out. I remember thinking about weaning when she was close to a year and I was just about an emotional wreck thinking about it!

When I found out I was pregnant in June Bailey was still nursing 2 or 3 times a day. It was mainly the morning, afternoon, and evening. Although the afternoon session was usually hit or miss. Anyway, when I found out I was pregnant my breasts were so sore especially in the morning and nursing then made me nauseated and so I decided to distract her in the morning and change up the routinue. For the most part she really didn't ask to nurse and if she did I could usually distract her with a good breakfast snack. If she was really persistant I would let her. After that it got to were she really only wanted to nurse in our bedtime routinue or if she awoke in the middle of the night. However if I wasn't home in the evening she was fine because out of sight out of mind. As the weeks of pregnancy progressed the milk train left the station and she did become frustrated with me a few times signing more and trying each breast twice but she soon settled for a before bed snack and a little nursing. She had always been more about nursing for milk than comfort so I had a feeling the nursing would work itself out. I really had no desire to nurse her and new baby at the same time. The rest of the summer was sort of up and down on when she would want to nurse and sometimes she would ask but then when she realized the milk was in fact gone she would move on to something else and was happy to sit in my lap and read books.

Anyway, in the last few weeks she nursed about every other day and then last Tuesday 2 days before she turned 20 months old she asked to nurse in the morning. She latched on and nursed for quite some time, longer than she had in a long time, and then that was it. I guess she had her last hoorah. She did ask to nurse one other time in the week but when I got out the goods she laughed at me and went on to something else.

So, its the end. I will never foget those 20 months that we shared something that no one else could share with her. It is truely a wonderful experience. Yes, the beginning was hard and yes there were times that I didn't want to sit down and take the time to nurse her when she wanted to. But, that's just the thing about nursing. It makes you stop and sit down with your child and enjoy the moment. As we all know they grow way too fast. So, its another check in the old book that my Sugie is slowly becoming less of my baby and more of my little girl. Its happy and sad all at once. I will leave you with a few pics of her sweet little face.

Super Swimming Sugie!

Sugie has become more and more of a swimmer this summer. I got her floaties about a week ago and I wish I would have gotten them sooner! She loves to jump in the pool and now she loves it even more because she can do it more on her own. The first video is of her jumping in and kicking around and the second one is of her playing in the kidding pool and doing her famous "plop".

Country Girl Walking the Sidewalks

One of Sugie's favorite things about our new neighborhood and house is walking up and down the sidewalk. I really think she would do it all day if I let her! So we do a lot of sweating in the evening. I let her go bare foot just to make sure she doesn't lose her country girlness. Ha! Call me mother of the year!

We are pretty sure she can already read because when she gets to the stop sign she turns around and comes back!

We still have a good front porch for swingin' too!

Back to work for mama

This was my sweet Sugar Bear this morning ready to go to her sitters house! I don't know why one pic is blurry and the other I chopped her head off! She did great as usual and mama did ok too. Actually last night I was a bit of a mess. One of my good friends, Catharine, used to analyze her life at night before bed when we were in college. We always told her, "Catharine go to bed. Things will seem better in the morning." I probably should have followed my own advice last night! Actually, I did but not before posting a FB status about calling in dead! HA! Anyway, Sugie was happy to play with the toys and her old friends and was very happy when I picked her up. I survied sitting through a boring day of people talking. :)

If you can't do it yourself then hire someone.

Since I have totally sucked at taking pics of the Sugie lately I decided to have someone do it for me! HA! Sugie was in one of her serious moods and not letting out a lot of smiles and frankly wanted us to just let her run around the park! HA! However, Lindsey was still able to see a few good pics! You can see them at http://www.lindseycombsphotography.com/main.html click on client proof and then username is JWilliams and password is Bailey. They are case sensitive so type carefully. Let me know your favorites. :)

Do they make one of those..

....things for your camera that you can tie around your neck 24/7? I SO NEED ONE! Lately, I have been so many places that I want to have my camera but then forget it. ARRGGGHHH.... Anyway, today we went with some friends up to the mall to ride the carousel and play in indoor playground and have lunch. It was the same carousel that Bailey road on her first birthday and she liked it just the same! She said, "weee" and "up" and liked it a lot. She really liked playing in the soft play area at the mall too. Those places so rock and I wish we had one closer to us for us to go often since it is like 100 degrees at 8 am right now! BLAH! Anyway, just thought I would document this for me to remember. If your reading this you are probably thinking BORING without pics. Sorry, I will get some pics soon!

13 weeks or so

How far along? About 13 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: Offically at the doctor last week I had lost a pound by I figure I just had lighter shoes on or something. I am hoping to keep it to 10-15 pounds like a did with Sugie. NOTE TO SKINNY GIRLS: Do not attempt this. Please eat. I have "worked" hard to have this extra baggage stored up! HA!

Maternity clothes? Shorts most of the time now because they are more comfortable. Everything else is still normal clothes
Stretch marks? No new ones I hope

Sleep: Best sleep I have had since I was pregnant with Sugie. Seriously!

Best moment this week: Hearing heart beat last week and holding a friends baby that was crying and Sugie not going nuts

Movement: Not yet

Food cravings: Not really just like healthier food than normal. Although the other night I wanted potato chips for some reason

Labor Signs: Nope

Button in or out? in and normal

rings on or off? On

What I miss: Nothing really

What I am looking forward to: Feeling him/her move

Ok...here we go

Alright so I am back to bloggin. I have made a few changes to the layout that I have been wanting to make FOREVER. I am still not quite none but enough for today! I figure a new house and a new blog! HA! Anyway, the question seems to be, "How is the new house!" The answer is "GREAT!" I know it sounds silly but this house feels like my first real grown up house. I know our other house was a grown up house too but this house feels more like the real deal.

Bailey and I have been enjoying our summer of staying up late and sleeping in. HA! I will come to an end here shortly. :( She turned 19 months old last week and is really becoming quite a little girl although she is still may little baby. She makes me laugh everyday. Lately everything is "hot, hot" and she has begun to tell me when she has poop.

Anyway, I haven't really been taking very many pictures AT ALL! ARRRGGGHHH!! Here are a few anyway (most of which my sister took!)

Grandpa came to visit for a while to help Daddy build shelves and organize the gargae. Sugie had a fun time playing with him and he could really make her laugh

Sugie even tried to learn to play some poker and drink beer. Ha! Just kidding...about the beer part anyway. I am pretty sure she thought the poker chips were quite entertaining!

Cousins Mason, Kelsey and Davey came to visit and for a swim. Sugie had a great time. My sister caught a good picture of sugie do her pool "plop". She jumps up and plops down in the water on her butt. She thinks it is quite funny. Not so funny part is she has now discovered that the said "plop" can be attempted in the bath tub. Moms not laughing so much anymore.

I seriously think that this Sugie has probably eaten like 10 watermelons all by herself this summer. We (mostly she) go through about one a week.

The two beauties

Sweet Sugie

All the cousins to entertain the Sugie

Me and my Sugie!

We are ALIVE!!

Just a post to let everyone know that we are in fact alive despite my blog silence. I have been busy unpacking boxes and hanging pictures and playing with Sugie. We have had visits from Grandpa, Poppy, Aunts and Cousins too! I would love to post pictures and blog about all the above events but I seem to have misplaced the camera cord. SO, as soon as I figure out where that darn thing is I will have lots of blog posts. I also had my 12 week appointment for #2 (Herkie) and he/she is doing just fine and heart is beating at 160 bpm. I feel the same as I did with Sugie which means I feel GREAT! I am hoping this pregnancy is as easy as Sugies! Anyway, more pics coming SOON!
