Daddys do things different

This is how Trever washes Bailey's bum or as he tells her lets wash your "under carriage." I about died laughing the first time I saw him doing this and I snuck in there tonight to capture a picture so that I could have it to remember and also give you all a good laugh. It's funny how Dad's do things different. I have to hold myself back to not say anything because if not I would be saying something all day long! I do wonder when she is older if she will say things to me like, "Do it like this that is the way daddy does it." I have a feeling she will proably like his crazy way of doing things then my "normal" way of doing things. Anyway, I will let you continue with your laughing and just incase you need it. Here is the pic again....

15 month stats

Bailey had her 15 month checkup yesterday and she is doing great! She wanted nothing to do with being on the exam table but Dr. S mananged to convince her to endure a little prodding here and there. She weighed in at 23 lbs 15 ounces (60th percentile) and 31.5 inches (75th percentile) so she has slowed down in her growth a bit which is normal. Anyway, nothing too exciting here just wanted to document.

New House Take 1 - Wishin' things were moving

This is the lot where hopefully our new house will stand. There is nothing directly behind it and there will be nothing until the next phase of the development is built. There is a house on the right and another empty lot on the left. I am not exactly sure where it ends on the left but I think this picture makes things look a little bigger than they are. I bet some of you were saying "thats it?" Ha! We are definelty trading in our land for house. I think our front yard currently is bigger than the whole lot. I think Trev will be happy with that especially after he just spent 2 hours mowing and weed eating today and didn't even do the whole yard! A few walks back and forth and the yard is mowed! :) Anyway, we are still waiting on our house to sell before they will break ground. We had some people come and take a second look today so hopefully that will bring an offer. We are ready to get things movin'.

15 Months

Bailey Sugar Bear you turned 15 months on Friday! Wow! It is so hard for mommy and daddy to beleive. Some days I look at you and I can't believe my eyes. You are so happy most of the time and if you aren't its because you are tired and need a nap or to go to bed. Here is what else you are up to these days.

1) You wear a size 4 diaper, 18 month clothes with a few 2T shirts and I figure you weigh about 24 pounds
2) You have really developed a little personlity. You do things and then start laughing at yourself and check to see if we are laughing too
3) I think you are going to be an engineer like your daddy. You concentrate really hard at figuring things out. You love to get a water bottle and screw the little top on and off. You crack me up!
4) You have this little dog that plays music that I got you for Valentine's day and it is one of the first things you get out of the toy box in the morning or when we get home. You get him with your other favorite toy, your ice cream truck, put him on it turn on the music and then knock him off and crack yourself up doing it.
5) I really miss you a lot during the day when you are at the sitters house but you seem to have fun there. When I pick you up you sometimes cry when we have to leave because I am making you leave the toy you are playing with.
6) You have started to throw some pretty big fits when you don't get your way these days. I just love on you and tell you that you can't have it and distract you and you soon forget about it. If you don't I know that you need to take a nap.
7) You are so cute with all your walking around everywhere. You still walk with your arms bent and out like you need them for balance
8) You love to play outside and will do so for hours
9) You do this cute little growl sound when you first see us or just to be funny
10) I can't really tell you what your favorite things to eat are because it changes from day to day. One day you will feed yourself a ton of chicken and another day you act like it is too much effort to chew and would assume eat baby food. One day you will eat my whole sandwich and the next day you will throw it on the floor. One day you will eat enough spaghetti for a 3 year old and the next day you look at me like I am crazy for feeding you that! You really don't like sweet stuf and I think prefer salty junk food like chips and fries. However, you almost never refuse yogurt.
11) You still nurse about 3 times a day. The most in the morning and in the afternoon.
12) You hate milk and refuse to drink it and actually refuse to drink anything but water.
13) You love your books. You like to look through them and do this cute little thing were you turn the pages and act like your reading by making this "ba ba ba ba" sounds. You like to be read to as well and enjoy it more when you are tired.

Your daddy and I love you so much. It is really hard to describe how full our heart are with love for you. You make me smile everyday and I can't imagine life without you. Love you my sugar bear. Here are some pictures of us today at the park. It was really cold and you went down the slide for the first time. You aren't to sure about that yet. You mostly liked to walk around and check things out. The last picture is of you coming up loving on me giving me a hug. Too sweet!

SNOW!!!...Again...

This is what it looked like off of our front porch this morning and it snowed for a couple more hours after this. Man I thought I lived in Texas! It is quite beautiful but not when you have spent the entire week enjoying the beautiful sunshine! :( Good news is it will be in the 70s by midweek and this is proably the last cold snap of the season!
Sugie thought we should spent the day cleaning!

Ok maybe not!

Camp Dave-O aka Poppy's campsite

We were suppose to go camping this weekend but just like last year the weekend turned out to be cold, rainey, and even snowy! Yucko! It was still a beautiful spring day on Friday so Sugie and I went out to enjoy the beautiful weather at Camp Dave-O or aka Mimi and Poppy's campsite! We had a great day and Sugie had fun playing outside with her cousins!

Mimi and Poppy aka head of Camp Dave-O
Sugie's favorite chair. She climbed up and down a million times. She even flipped off backwards and somehow didn't land on her head but actually on her butt. She didn't cry just sort of looked like "what in the world just happened" and then went back to playing!

Chillin' getting ready for a hike!

Playin' with Mimi

Me and Sugie off for a hike that turned out to be too muddy! ARRGGHHHH...rain rain go away!

Smiley Sugie

We did quite a bit of chillin'

Running and playing and laughing

Her chair and her cheese stick

Thanks for having me out to your campsite Poppy. I hope for better weather next time so I can stay the night!

Backwards or Forwards? That's the question?

So, I still have Bailey's car seat facing backwards. I have realized this horrifies some people..."You haven't turned her car seat around?" Of course people are still horrified that she nurses even though they got a baby bottle in their 18 month olds mouth but thats for a whole other post. Part of me hasn't turned it around out of pure laziness. The anchors on her car seat are hard to get into my car and it is really a 2 man job. She doesn't seem to mind facing backwards and I have a mirror where I can see her so I just assume keep her that way. Stuff I have read says to keep them rear facing as long as possible. Her car seat goes up to 35 or 40 pounds so that is at least a good year away and I am thinking maybe even longer. So, is she like the only 14 month old who faces backwards? When did you turn your darlings around?

Library Time for Tots

I took Sugie to story time today at the library. When I was a kids I remember my mom taking on the library so I am glad to carry on the tradition. She didn't really listen to the story but enjoyed the parachute time by sitting underneath it with her hair sticking straight up. :) At the end they dumped out a big pile of toys and she really like that too. So, I guess it was really more playtime than story time! It is for 1 - 2years old so hopefully when she is closer to 2 she will be more into it! :) I didn't have my camera for any pics but wanted to remember her first trip to the library. By the Way, it was at the new Rockwall County Library and all I can say is wow! It looks like Barnes in Noble/Starbucks in there. Check it out if you live in the area. :)

Fun at the Arboretum

Sugie and I enjoy a beautiful day at the Dallas Arboretum with our Friends Daysha and Kai. We got there around 10:30 and didn't leave until 3:45! Wow! We walked and walked. The kids played and played. Then we walked and walked some more while the kids napped in the strollers and me and Daysha chatted without having to chase toddlers! :) We had a great time. Thanks for inviting us Daysha and Kai
There were lots of beautiful blooms!
I try to get pictures of Sugie these days with her face but frankly I can't keep up with the kid! She is constantly on the move and heaven forbid I make her look at me or stand still for a second!
Green grass with no weeds? Mama we aren't at home anymore. On the move!
For any longhorn fans!
There was a petting zoo but I think Bailey just thought they were caged up Dukes! :) Ha! Kai enjoyed them and I just missed getting a really good picture of him but you can still see his smile! We enjoyed a picnic and Kai and Sugie were of course on the move. They don't really play together yet but did manage to find a pile of soil that has flowers that haven't bloomed yet. We tried to keep them out the best we could but there may be some blooms that don't come up this year! :) Near where we had lunch was an old set up of a house. Sugie found the cabinets in there too!Kai found an old wash tub. We put Sugie in there too but she was tired and was about done for at that point! So, I told Daysha we better start heading out so that Sugie could crash before she went into melt down. I told her that I had never seen Bailey fall asleep in the stroller and that I didn't think she would! Ha! Famous last words! This was actually after I leaned her back. She was slumped over with her head on the plastic tray. Poor baby I think I wore her out!

Kai (isn't he just too cute) followed suite and napped too.
Bailey had a short nap and woke up happier and was ready to play some more. She will NOT keep hats on for more than too seconds but I did manage to snap this pic. I told her that she needed to think her daddy for her fair, white skin! HA! Anyway, we had a great time and can't wait to do it again!

Hiking Girl

It was another beautiful day here and we decided to go on a hike. We didn't get far though because the trail was very muddy and we didn't feel like walking through it so we turned back and then let Sugie get out and try some hiking of her own! She loved it! She now wants to spend every minute outside! :)
She is getting really good at navigating the different terrain and even mad it up a couple of inclines. She falls down but gets right back up and trys again!

Yay Sugie!

Concentration face.

Oops fell down...oh well...yay Sugie!
I didn't notice how funny this pick looks when I took it. That branch is coming up out of the ground but it almost looks like Sugie is holding it up!
Yippee! For Spring like weather for Spring Break!

First Zoo Trip

We decided to start off Spring Break right and head to the zoo this morning! The zoo opened at 9 and we tried to get there then but it was more like 9:30. This is an awesome time to go to the zoo! We went to the Dallas zoo and I don't think I have been there since I was a small child. In the last few decades I have always gone to the Ft. Worth Zoo because frankly it is better but we didn't want to drive that far. I think the Dallas Zoo is coming along and making some improvements but they still have a long way to go before they are Ft Worth Zoo quality but we had a grand time and it was about the right size for us to get through with the Sugie Bear!

Sugie checking out the Penguin statute and seeing how tall she is. Getting out of the stroller and running around was one of her favorite things to do.

This isn't a great picture but it is a mama chimp carrying her baby. It reminded me of carrying around the Sugie when she was a baby! HA!

The chimps were one of our favorite things. It was a little chilly when we first got there but we soon shed the coats and it was a beautiful day!

Daddy and bear looking at the chimps through the glass.

Sugie checking out the chimp statues and having a snack.

Weird Daddy!!!

Flashback! As I said I don't think I have been to this zoo since I was a small child and I am sure it has changed a lot since then. However the habitat of the giraffes and elephants has not changed! Actually they have a new home but they haven't been moved yet. I actually had to open my mouth and insert my foot because when we walked up on the elephants I said, "man they sure have a miserable habitat" Next to us stood someone important looking from the zoo who told us how they are going to be moved soon and all about the new Safari. Ha! It was interesting though to listen to what he had to say even if I was a tiny bit embarrassed.

We would roll Sugie up to some of the habitats and she would just talk and talk. Here she is giving me her "what you looking at mom" look.

She had it made as she kicked backed and relaxed!

She even discovered how to use the cup holder on the stroller and then it was a game to take it out and put it in a hundred times! :)

We let her out at this kids play area and all she would do is go over to this stream! I think she is going to be ready to swim this summer!

Walkin' over to the stream!
We survived our first trip to the zoo! I thought I would post a pic of me since I never do here on the blog. I mostly don't because I usually always have the camera and Trev has no patience for picture taking. He snaps the camera once ready or not. So most of the pictures of me and the bear look like the ones above....not so great! oh well!

After the zoo we made it home for nap time and then we had to leave the house for a showing so we went to the park and Sugie got to play outside again! She was in heaven today! Maybe she will sleep until 8 tomorrow? Doubtful!
