96 months!

Duke will turn 96 months old tomorrow. For you non math people that is 8 years old! Holy cow! It really doesn't seem that long ago that we got him as a puppy. We seriously love him as much now as we did before we had Sugie. I know people say that your feelings towards your first "fur" child change after you have kids but for me nothing has really changed. Duke is apart of our family and he is just as sweet as ever. Since Sugie gets all the attention I thought I would put what Duke is up to these days....

1) He weighs about 125 pounds, wears a slick black coat and no shoes everyday

2) He sleeps about 20 hours a day

3) His favorite place is to be near his humans on the couch

4) He still loves walks as much as he did when he was a puppy. If he sees you loading up Sugie in the stroller he knows its time to go.

5) He has been chasing bunnies in the backyard at the rent house

6) He is a good big brother and tolerates Sugie's abuse pretty well

7) I think he tolerates her abuse because he can be found around meal time near Sugie's highchair.

8) He does not speak any words but does understand many phrases.

9) He is still afraid of storms and climbed in bed in the middle of the night with me just this week.

10) He is the sweetest, best dog in the world and we love him so!

1 1/2 Birthday

Sugie had her 1/2 birthday on Saturday. I was hoping to take some more pictures before I made a post this week but I have a workshop this week and feel if I don't get it done now it is never going to get done! HA! She had a wonderful 1/2 birthday. We went to a 1 1/2 birthday party for a friend of hers who was born a day before her. Yep you got it she is a Christmas baby. It was fun party with lots of little pools in the backyard and my little water baby played and played. She came home for a good nap and then ran errands with us. We took her to Texas Roadhouse and she enjoyed eating a lot of steak. Have I mentioned this girl likes a good Filet Mignon? We may have created a monster. Anyway, here is what you are up to these days my little Sugar Bear.

1) I think you weigh around 26 - 27 pounds, wear 18/24/2T clothes and a size 5 shoe

2) You laugh all the time still and laugh when everyone in the room is laughing. You can be quite a ham.

3) You really love to splash and play in the water.

4) Your favorite toys are all of your push toys. You have a little doll stroller that mostly only red dog gets to ride in. You occasionally let someone else ride in their but I think red dog is your main buddy!

5) You still love your ice cream truck and you push it and ride it. The funniest thing though is that as soon as daddy walks in the door from work you get on your truck and want him to push you around on it.

6) You are giving everything kisses and hugs these days. It is quite cute.

7) You are getting better about saying more words. The most clear are still mama, dadda, ball, bye bye, hi and dog. You also say thank you and again but they are harder to understand. You babble in complete sentences but I have no idea what you are saying. You still use sign language a lot and I can usually figure out what you want.

8) You love books and have your favorite ones that you make me read over and over. When I finish and close it you say again and make me read it again. If I try to get a different book you want nothing to do with it.

9) You seem to be pretty outgoing but can be shy in a very crowded, new place.

10) Everywhere we go everyone says you are super cute and that they love your really blonde hair that seems to have gotten more blonde in the last few months.

11) You still like your suckies and sleep with them at night.

12) you are still nursing a couple of times a day

13) I have been working with you on your animals sounds but you aren't real excited to repeat them. Sometimes you will do a woof woof for me though

14) You know your parts of your face but most of the time with not do them on command

15) You are growing up to be so much fun even if you can throw quite a tantrum when you don't get your way! :) We love you so much my little Sugar bear!

Coming along, won't be long!

The house is coming along amazingly! We went by yesterday and I was pleasantly suprised at home much has been accomplished and how close it is to being finished. We now have a lawn, landscaping, correct granite countertops, mantle on fireplace and even electricity with some A/C :). I feel like the only things that really need to be done are carpet, cleanup, stain mantle, fireplace, railing and touchups and then it will be COMPLETE! YIPEE! Here is picture overload!

Kitchen with new granite. It has a protective blue thing on it and I think it may need to stay on their so I pulled it back on the island a bit so you could see

Spaghetti Girl

One of Bailey's favorite meals these days is spaghetti. Actually it is tortellini because its easier for her to eat with her fork. We had it the other night and I kid you not that she ate as much as I did! :)

Light Fixtures, tile, and wrong granite...:(

Sorry I haven't posted many pics lately of the house. Really just a lot of odds and end things happeneing like air conditioning units, etc. Don't worry I didn't take pictures of those but holy cow they are HUGE! :) Anyway, here are a few pics. you really can't see the tile in the kitchen because it is covered so I took some pics in master bath so you could see it better. Also, they installed the wrong granite. It was the color we had originally picked and apparently there was a miscommunication down the road somwhere. Anyway, they said it will be fixed. Glad it isn't my pocket book! They also have the shutters on the outside of the house but I forgot to take a picture of that. they aren't stained yet.

Tile is in, light fixtures are up, but the granite is wrong...:(

Day at the Museum

Hey there its me Sugie! Mommy said she was sick of the heat and where going to stay out of it today! so, we went with my friend Kai and his mommy Daysha to the Children's Museum. It was a lot of fun. I will let the pictures do the talking with of course a few words from me.

We started off in this really fun room with lots of mats and blocks. It is naturally where mommy took the most pictures.

I walked all around on the mats and it was a lot of fun

They had cool cubes and there is my friend Kai in the background

We decided to put all of the blocks into the square

I loved to climb up on the mats.

Hey there Kai!

There was a sand box where you didnt have to actually have to put your feet in the sand.

Hey mom quit taking so many pictures

There were really cool fish. I tried to say fish but I don' know if mommy understood me.

There were these weird mirrors that made you look all distorted

The water room was my favorite! I splashed and splashed!

It was a lot of fun. See those dorky aprons the kids have on? I refused to ruin my fashionista style and wear them. So mommy took my shirt off. Don't worry I got my shorts all wet too and got a whole new outfit!

After a new outfit it was off to do a little shopping in the market!

I think I will take a melon

I just about got a whole bag full!

I had to rest on a bench

Visit with a cow

and ride a horse in the market too.
Thats it folks. I also got to play on a fire truck but there were way too many kids and all of mommys pictures were blurry! :) Thanks for stopping by!

Take 2

My sister had given away most of her hand-me-down clothes from her kids but she did give me a few dresses. Anyway, this past weekend when we went over I put Sugie in one of the dresses that she gave me that was Kelsey's. We dug up a picture to compare.

Paint, doors, baseboards, and Stair Railing

We hadn't been the the house in a few days so I wasn't really expecting too much. Actually I was just expecting the doors to be hung. Much to my surprise the outside was painted, most of the inside was painting, the doors were hung, most of the baseboards were in and best of all the stair railing is in! The stair railing is something I was most excited about seeing. You still can't see the railing all the way becuase it still has it protective coating on it but I think you can get the idea! It's really coming along. Next up...countertops and tile!

Sugie's little window - this is one of the windows in Sugie's room and I really like it alot
