Absolute Delight!

Does this picture not look like the happiest little girl on the earth! Its my new niece and I have been quite delighted myself in the last few weeks as I have watched her mesh into life with my sister and her family. My sister is currently living in Guatemala trying to get things with her adoption rolling. You can follow it on my sisters blog here. The details of the adoption are confusing so you are better off getting them there. All I know is I can't wait until she is home here in the US and I can hug and squeeze that little girl!

31 weeks

What would probably be more entertaining than these pics is a video of me trying to take them. The girl is absolutely crazy over that monkey! As soon as I sit her down and start trying to sit him down this is what it looks like....

Then as soon as I sit him down it is joy all around!

I tricked her on this picture and layed the monkey down and then layed her on her side facing the other way and then called her name until she turned over.

Of course that lasted all of 10 seconds and then she found him and the fun began once again!

Blessed

So I am sitting here this afternoon avoiding housework as usual and reading blogs. Today I seem to have stumbled on a lot of blogs about really sick babies. I seriously don't know how people do it. I don't even like to see Bailey cry when she is frustrated at her toys so I can't imagine hearing your baby cry because they are seriously sick. I know Bailey will be sick some day (hopefully not seriously) but I don't look forward to it. So for today I go in and look at this sweet little baby happily sleeping away in her crib as healthy as can be and I feel truely BLESSED! :)

7 months!

My sweet Bailey Bear you are 7 months old! You had a very long day and did so great after traveling for over 12 hours. Here is what you are up to these days

-I guess you weigh between 18 and 19 pounds
-You wear a size 3 diaper
-You sleep through the night about 99% of the time.
-You still take a couple of short naps in the morning and a long nap in the afternoon and go to bed around 8
-You babble a lot now but the most when you are at home and not around strangers
-You also really belly laugh now but again more when you are at home than with strangers
-You love your jumparoo and will spend almost an hour in that thing jumping away
-You love to be outside and I love to hold you and sit with you on the porch in the evenings
-You do not have any teeth and do not show any signs of getting any soon
-You are a wonderful traveler and have now been to 6 states
-You nurse about 5 times a day and these are some of my favorite times with you especially in the morning and before bed
-You are not real crazy about real food but you do humor me and eat cereal, bananas, applesauce, green beans, and sweet potatoes and other things off of mommy's plate. A few bites and you are done though
-You love to go to the park and swing. you let out the biggest smiles and giggles
-You have not shown an interest in crawling just yet

Bailey Sugar Bear you are the sweetest most beautiful baby in the world. You change each day and are growing so fast. Me and your daddy love you so much! :) Happy 7 month b-day!

Colorado - Sunday

How woul you like to wake up to this view off your back porch each morning? It was time for us to leave this beautiful site and head back to Texas so after pictures with the family we headed for Colorado Springs to catch our flight.

Papa Rick and Bailey

Gigi and Bailey

Papa Rick, Trev, and Bailey
Now for the story of one of the most adventourous parts of our trip! It involves heavy traffic, one car accident, lots of rain, 2 take offs, 2 landings, a lady in front of us filling up 3 barf bags, a small dog barking and whining and one tired baby! :) If you are interested then read further if not you have now reached the conclusion of our trip.
So, we left for Buena Vista to head to Colorado Springs and had very heavy traffic on a 2 lane road. I would look ahead and see a chain of cars for miles and trucks pulling trailers screaching up the moutainside. Little did we know this would be the beginning of our adventure. We got to the Colorado Springs and got to the airport and got on the plane. I was a little worried about Bailey because she was totally out of whack with her schedule and really had not had a decent nap but I thought its only a 1 1/2 hour flight. About 30 minutes before we were scheduled to land the pilot came on and said that we could not land in DFW because they were having bad weather and that we were going to circle around Whichita falls for a while. AFter 30 minutes he came on to say that a few planes had tried to land in DFW but could not due to sheer winds and that we did not have enough fuel to try to land and then not be able to so we flew to Oklahoma City to refuel. Bailey was doing so great. She had eaten and had a little nap so I wasn't to stressed. As we start to descend into Oklahoma City a small dog on the plane is barking and whining and then I notice the lady in front of us getting out the barf bag. After she filled up 3 or 4 bags I thought and I was worried about my baby screaming? Anyway, we landed in Oklahoma City and refueled but couldn't get off the plane. Everyone loved Bailey on the plane and commented on what a good baby she was. I was hoping these people weren't going to jinx me! Finally after we lifted off for DFW. Bailey had a snack and was zonked! Poor baby! I knew we were running on borrowed time but she did great. My parents picked us up and we got Duke from there house and didn't make it home unitl almost 1. We were exhausted! :) Bailey did great and I was so proud of her. She did have a meltdown about 30 mintues from the house in which I got her out of the car seat to calm her down. She was SOOO tired!

Colorado - Saturday

We woke up to a beautiful day in Buena Vista. Bailey started her day with leg exercises with her Papa Rick. Do you think they are helping her chunko thighs? :)

After we got all of our exercises out of the way we headed to St. Elmo which is a little ghost town from the late 1800s. Can you believe that this town had 2000 people in the late 1800s? Anyway, we really went to take the kids to feed the chimpmunks like we did last year. Last year I was pregnant with Bailey and did not yet know that she was a girl. I was glad to have her there with me this year outside of the womb. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery, walking around and feeding the chimpmunks

In the afternoon Trev and I drove up to Rainbow Lake. It is so beautiful and we enjoyed walking around even though it was raining a bit

After rainbow lake we found a nice Rock further up in the mountains to hang out on and enjoy the nice moutain air. Bailey enjoyed sitting on ther rock too! We then went down by the river and watched a few kayakers go by.

I haven't made a blog post about this yet but we learned early this summer that Bailey loves to swing! We take her many times a week but I have forgot the camera every time. Finally I had a camera to capture the moment!

We wrapped up our day by hanging out by the campfire and watching the boys play horse shoes. Me and Laura did out best to keep our little babies warm. :)

Colorado - Friday

On Friday we headed to Buena Vista for a little mini family reuion that we have had the last few years. If you have never been to Buena Vista it is so beautiful and a wonderful place to visit. I could almost see living there except for the 6 foot snow drifts they talk about in the winter! :) It is about a 2 hour drive from Colorado Springs so we loaded up in the car and were off. We stopped along the way to get out and enjoy even COOLER weather and take a few pics.

We reached Buena Vista and everyone was very excited to get to see Bailey. Trev's dad and brother's family had not seen her since she was 6 weeks old! She was able to meet her only surviving great grandparents and I was glad that we got some great pics of that.

Totally relaxed with Peep

The first day we got there we really just visited with family and relaxed around the house. Well some us relaxed but there were other things going on like...

Trev and Cade/Papa Rick and Lane having a wheelbarrow race! :)

Come on Cade and Lane lift those legs!

Can we have a wheelbarrow turn? Bailey and Jude who are about 6 weeks apart playing on the floor.

Bailey was also able to meet Trev's aunt Becky for the first time too. She was acutally nice enough to have us all to her house again this year! Thanks Aunt Becky!
Later that evening we decided that we would drive up to Cottonwood pass. It is usually a little chilly up there but it was REALLY cold this evening. The car said it was only like 50 degrees but the wind was chilly. We bundled sugar bear up and took were able to stand the cold for a few pictures.

Is this not the cutest little baby eskimo you have ever seen? I think she is thinking "Why do they put me in a sundress and then put all this other stuff on me!?!?"

Colorado - Wednesday and Thursday

On Wednesday we headed to wonderful Colorado to get away from the heat! Ok so we really went to visit family but escaping the heat was wonderful. Did you know that the grass along the highways is supposed to be green not cooked brown? Ha! Anyway, sugar bear had her first plane ride and as usual was a real trooper. Here she is ready to go!
and as usual about 30 minutes into it she was zonked!

We flew into Colorado Springs to spend time at Trev's moms house. We enjoying having meals out on the patio and taking walks in the afternoon. Bailey had fun playing with Nana and Nana was glad to see her again!
