9 weeks

Once again happy for monkey pics! So many I liked! :) My happy Bailey Bear!

It would have been a sight to see...

I don't like to blog without pictures so the above picture is the only picture I have to lead me into this story as I was not present for the actual events. Bailey has decided that when it comes to pooping quanity rather than frequency is more important. So, on Wednesday she was going on the fourth day without pooping. I was preparing for the "big one." All parents know what I am talking about...extra change of clothes and plenty of wipes on each outing. I decided that I needed a little R&R so made myself a massage appointment. Trev met me on his way home from work at massage place to switch off Bailey to ensure I made my appointment on time. Guess what happened on the way home? You guessed it. The "big one" hit! All over her and the car seat! All on daddy's watch and all while mommy was relaxing getting a massage. Way to go Bailey bear! I couldn't have timed it better myself!

Who stole my little baby?

...and gave me this big baby? I went in to check on Bailey bear while she was napping yesterday and there in her cribbed layed this giant baby! I don't know if it is the pants or what but she looked huge! Like a toddler or something! :(

8 week pics and 2 month checkup

Bailey was so happy this morning when I was taking her monkey pics that I couldn't help but post a couple of each one. She still continues to be happy nearly all of the time. Although she is currently a little cranky since her first vaccinations. Poor baby! Bailey had her 2 month checkup and as we already knew is growing like a weed and doing great. She weighed in at 12 pounds 2 ounces which is in the 90th percentile and following in her father's footsteps she is already 2 feet tall which wasn't even in a percentile because it was off the chart. :) She of course didn't really care for the shots but calmed down as soon as she started nursing. Thank god for breastfeeding once again! Bailey really appreciates everyone who follows her growth and would be happy for anyone to come and visit her anytime. Just give us a call.

Is she sleeping through the night?

Wherever we go the 2 questions I get are "How old is she" and "Is she sleeping through the night?" Why do people care if my baby sleeps through the night? If she doesn't are they implying that they want to come over and help out? Does it define your parenting skills if your baby sleeps through the night? What exactly constitutes sleeping through the night? I mean some people only get 5 hours of sleep while others get 9 hours of sleep. Well anyway, to answer the question Bailey sleeps at night as much as she needs to and for as long as her little belly allows. This translates into usually a 4 or 5 hour stretch a feeding followed by another 3-4 hour stretch. To me the question should be "Does she go back to sleep after you feed her" because if she doens't that is when the night is tough to me. I actually enjoy feeding her in the night time. I go in there and get her while she is all swaddled up. I cuddle up with her on the couch while she feeds and we both doze in and out. Someone told me when she was first born that when she sleeps through the night I will miss this time. When she was getting up every 2 hours I thought this statement was insane but now I get it. It makes sense. It is wonderful. It is just me and her and silence except for her little milk guzzling sounds. So, I guess I should throw people off and when they ask I should say, "Why would I?"

Spinning Monkey

I put Bailey in her jungle gym something like this while I went to pump. In the time it took me to pump a few ounces of milk and get parts cleaned I came back to her like the picture below. I guess my little monkey has figured out how to spin her little self around!

Thanks for helping me into the world Lindsay

I had my post natal appoinment today and got a picture of Bailey with the first person to touch her and help bring her into this world. I love my midwife Lindsay. She is the greatest. If you live in the Dallas area and want and excellent person to have a baby with or to even go for well woman exams this is the lady for you. She works in a practice with 8 doctors so if there is ever a serious problem they are there. I truely feel that I would have very likely ended up with a C-section if it had not been for her. Thanks Lindsay!

I'm growing too fast

SHE IS GROWING TOO FAST AND GETTING SO BIG!!!!

Visit to see new cousin and Papa Rick

We went to Guymon this weekend to visit Papa Rick and Bailey's new cousin Jude. Of course, in my usual fashion I did not get any pictures except this picture that Trever took of Papa Rick playing with Bailey. ARRRGGGHHH..I need someone to follow behind me and take pictures. Anyway, we did get some pics of Bailey and Jude together but on Laura's camera. I will post those when I get them from Laura. She is a little busy right now though. Anyway, Jude was a cute little man and a good little baby. Bailey did great on the drive and the 8 hour trip only took us a little over 9 hours so it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. When we stopped to feed Bailey we got a system down and flew with it. :)

7 weeks

Bailey Burpo has hit the 7 week mark and I can't beleive it. My friend Jenna had her baby on Wednesday and we went and saw her yesterday and I can't believe that just 7 weeks ago Bailey was that small! Time is going by too quick. Bailey still seems to be happy most of the time. She is starting to really interact with you more by smiling and cooing. People have been asking me how much she weighs and I think it is close to 12 pounds. She will have her 2 month apointment next week so i guess we will see what she weighs in at. Anyway, here is Bailey and the Monkey at 7 weeks.

My suckey and me

I have finally found a pacifer that Bailey likes (thanks Missy for the suggestion) which is a big relief to me. She really was perfectly happy using me as a pacifer but this is not always so convient like in the store check out line, while i am cooking dinner, driving down the road, etc. Also she was going to be in for a rude awakening when I go back to work and I am not there. I am sure the lady watching her will be thanking me! :) Following in my sisters footsteps with my nephews we will be calling the pacifer "suckey" :) So here is the Bailey Booster sacked out with her suckey.

Miss You

I miss you my sweet Misty girl. You have been on my mind lately. I wish that you would have been here to meet Bailey. However, I am not sure you would have been able to handle having someone need your mommy so much.

The Backpack vacuum

This is our newest household gadget that I must say at first I thought Trev was a complete dork for wanting. I still laugh at him when he puts it on. The backpack only weighs 8 pounds but I hadn't really used it until recently because of my back hurting. Anyway, I must say after having used it now several times it is quite convienent for dusting and vacuuming. Hopefully Trev won't catch me looking like a total dork with it on. :) Love ya babe!

6 weeks

1 week with Monkey...I am getting big!
Sitting with Monkey

Funny faces of Bailey boo

As usual I can't believe that she is 6 weeks old. She doesn't seem that much bigger to me from last week but hard to tell when you hold her cute little self everyday. Now that she can control her head and body a little more I am going to start taking a pic with monkey while sitting up too. These pics aren't great becuase she was a little hungry when I took them and I think was hoping the monkey would give her some milk. :) Below is a pic of her with me in the bath. I haven't posted in pics of bath time becuase frankly it looks like we are torturing her. She does however like it if you take a bath with her. Thankfully for yall I have cropped out my scary body. :)

Love baths with mommy

Hate torture time in my whale tub (This is acutally her first bath at home. I haven't had time between all the screaming to get a more recent pic in the whale tub.)
