Beautiful Weekend!

What a beautiful weekend! I LOVE weather like this! It was over 70 on SAturday and in the 60s today. I hauled my pregnant booty all the way up to the park twice! HA! Anyway, it was nice just to have some sunshine and warm weather and relax! Of course Sugie had fun playing! Actually she she might still be playing at this moment because she is fighting going to bed. HA! We had a child lock thing on her door up until recently because I didn't want her tumbling down the stairs at night but she recently figured those things out. She actually never really tried to get out of her room but now that she knows she can we have some battles in staying in her bed at night. I know that she will catch on soon so I am not too worried about it! All I have to say is "Sugie go get back in your bed and she does. No fighting or crying so I think she is just testing the limits. She has also been falling asleep with the door open. I think she just wants to know that she can get out if she wants or something. The upside is that on the weekends now she gets up and goes in the game room and starts playing and doesn't bother to wake us up! Yipee! I figure I got a few days to enjoy that until McKenzie gets here! :)

So, today starts the 39th week of pregnancy. I honestly have no idea when she will be here. I really always thought that she would not be here until after my due date but then recently thought it might be sooner. However, today I think it might be later. Who knows. As you know I am will not allow myself to be induced nor would my midwife induce me unless it was medically necessary so please refer to this post about how ovens vary if you have any questions! :) HA! So, place your bets if you would like but I haven't got a clue! :)

38 weeks and a few days

I was going to take a picture earlier today of my belly but I got distracted when we got home and now I am 1/2 dressed so you will have to go picturless on this post! I had my 38 week appointment today and everything is going well. I did have her check me and I was 2 cm and 50% effaced and she said she was good and low in my pelvis. Which the reason I had her check me is that I could actually feel her down in my pelivs. She said that if she were going bet that she thinks she will come pretty close to my due date or a little before. Of course, she also said she never bets on babies and when they will come because it is unpredictable! HA! :) Anyway, I don't really know what to think anymore. Some of me wants to think it could be late next week but then some of me thinks it will be longer. I told Trever and he said he was not "emotionaly prepared" for her to be here in January! That in his mind she will be born in February! Anyway, thought I would filll out the little survey for my records! :)

How far along? About 38 weeks

Total weight gain? 10 pounds

Maternity clothes? Mostly although I still wear normal shirts too

Sleep? Interupted by bathroom breaks and a 2 year old with the flu but hopefully the later will allow more rest this week and when I am not interupted I sleep hard!

Stretch marks? Hopefully no new ones!

Best moment this week? Getting her rom squared away

Movement? Lots.

Food Cravings? Anything sweet and the other day chicken crispers from Chili's

Labor Signs? Quite a bit of Braxton Hicks contractions which I never really had with Bailey

Button in or out? In

What I miss: not going to the bathroom every 15 seconds.

Random thoughts

As you can see Sugar Bear is feeling better and have I mentioned that she loves dress up shoes? Actually she loves any and all shoes. She can actually walk pretty well in these "heels" considering they are pretty high and way too big! HA!

I am in 38th week of pregnancy. You know what that means? Lots of questions about when the baby is going to be born and lots of shock when I tell people I have no idea! HA! I wonder at what point in our world that it was expected that babies would come when we tell them to and that asking said questions would actually seem like legit questions? I have really kept my due date under wraps a little more so perhaps less people are asking this time. HA! My kids at school are becoming quite concerned about me and when the baby might come. I have pretty much told them I am working until the 11th so I think they think that is when the baby is coming! :) A few have asked if I would have the baby in class to which I responeded that I was in labor with Bailey for 22 hours and I thought that there would be plenty of time to get out of class. Some 12 year old boy about passed out with that one! HA!

In all seriousness I feel pretty good. I am more tired than I was with Bailey but who wouldn't be when you work full time chasing 12 and 13 year olds and then come home and chase a toddler? I do feel like Mckenzie is settling pretty low into my pelvis which I don't think happened with Bailey until I was in active labor so I will probably have her check me tomorrow just out of curiosity to see if that shooting pain in my cervix is doing me any good or just causing pain! :)

I have friends (maybe family too) that think that this blog if full of a ridiculous amount of information and pictures. HA! I love keeping it up and hope that I will do the same once McKenzie gets here! I guess we shall see. I really can't see doing it less but then again I have never had 2 kids! :)

Anyway, here are some random pics! Sugie loves to get Duke's collar and attempt to put it on him. She tries real hard but hasn't actually gotten it on there. He usually sits and takes his "abuse" Anyway, I caught a few pics. I will close with that randomness! :)

McKenzie's Room

I finally have McKenzie's Room squared away enough for her arrival. It seems her room has become my place to drop off stuff and I was so ready to get it all out of there and get stuff hung on her wall. I still need some more stuff but this is as good as it gets. I am probably going to have to make or have made whatever else I want because it is hard to find girl baby stuff in the colors that I chose! I love it just the same though! Anyway, I guess McKenzie is free to be born now! HA!

At the door way to her room

Standing inside doorway

My makeshift changing table and plastic "dresser"! HA! Trev has started working on her dresser/changer combo but it will probably not be here before she is born so a friend let me have the changer and I figure I will use the plastic "dresser" for toys or something once the real dresser is complete.

The crib and her name. When we hung her name on the wall I said man that is a really long name, maybe we should change it! Just kidding!

Looking towards the rocker. A friend at work gave me that rocker that she rocked her baby in. ONly her baby is now 16. Anyway, thanks so much Debbie! I never had a rocker with Bailey because her room wasn't big enough at our old house.

I hate hanging things! It makes me crazy! So, this is my "professional"

"Another Baby? I am too old for this"

Daddy did have "help" though. Big sister tested out the crib for its safety while jumping

She made sure the whale tub was good enough for her "baby" bear.

She pretended to put her bear to "night night"

"Night, Night bear"

Turned a corner?

Well that was Sugie this evening with life back in her eyes and playing with her blocks. Yes, she has on the same PJs as a few days ago but they are the ones she kept wanting and who am I to argue with a sick little sugie? She did request some frog PJs before bed though. Man, it has been one strange up and down sickness. It seemed like on Wednesday she was getting better but by bedtime she was burning up again and then was burning up in the middle of the night. She woke up without a fever but was totally lifeless most of the day. After her nap she could still barely keep her eyes open on the couch and I thought, man things are getting worse instead of better. She fell asleep on the couch when I was on the phone and I went over and felt her and she was burning up again! I took her temp and it was back around 104. ARRRGGGHHH...anyway, when she woke up I gave her some advil and then she fell back asleep. Then she woke up and really played for the first time all week. Trev is staying home with her tomorrow while I go back to work so I hope it was our last spike in the fever this evening and this weekend she will be back to her old self! I am so ready for it to be over. The only good thing that has come from it, is that other than the day I went to work I have done nothing but rest myself which I probably needed to do. :) Hope you are all better my Sugie bear!

Sickness and 37 weeks

Isn't that picture just sad. It is actually the most peaceful she has been. Poor Sugie has been down and out sick and hasn't done much of anything in the last few days. The verdict: the flu. Her fever was actually not up today and she did play some but I am ready for my sweet Sugie to return. She is quite the monster. I know she doesn't feel good but day in and day out of the whining and crying is enough to send you over the edge! HA! Most of it is because she is so tired because the girl can not get any sleep because she is coughing her head off. They should make Nyquil for toddlers. :) I don't know how moms with really sick kids do it. This is probably the sickest Sugie has ever been and only the second time I would really consider her having been real sick and that was a year ago. So, I know I totally should not complain and her being cuddly has been nice but I am ready to play. :)

In other news I had my 37 week appointment and everything is going good. I did not have her check me so who knows if there is progress there. This past weekend I did feel like she had really moved into my pelvis but the last couple of days I feel like she is floating up high again. I will probably have her check me next time. I am Group B Strep postive, which I wasn't with Bailey, so I wasn't real excited about that. It really isn't a big deal but it means getting and IV as soon as I get to the hospital which I would have rather not done. She said it only takes about 20 minutes though and then I can be done with the IV. Anyway, other than that there wasn't much else to add. :)

I am hoping Sugie is back to her normal self soon! I will keep you posted!

36 weeks

Thats my Sugie waiting with me at the doctor today and yes it is that stinkin hat again. She refused to take it off and wore it the whole time she was there. She loves going with me to my appointments and I really like to take her because she is so much fun. We haven't been in 3 weeks yet when we pulled into parking lot today she was saying, "fish, fish" HA! Anyway, she has the routinue down....look at fish, go to the bathroom, get blood pressure, get weighed, go into room and get on table! HA! She makes everyone at the office laugh and they always tell me how laid back and good she is. I am sure she will throw one good tantrum eventually so they can see her 2 year old ways!

Anyway, everything with me and McKenzie was great. I had my Strep B test which means getting 1/2 naked. I hadn't planned on her checking on me but she sort of talked me into it saying that she wanted to be sure there was a head down there. Anyway, she said we didn't have to but I went ahead. I am 2 cm but McKenzie is still floating up there so she is not engaged. I don't know if I was effaced or not and really could care less! HA! :)

Anyway, here is the latest.

Labor Signs? Quite a bit of Braxton Hicks contractions which I never really had with Bailey

Let it snow! Let it snow!

Well we got plenty of the powdery stuff here today. Quite a strange site for us Texas people but perhaps this is the way things are going to be now? Anyway, Sugie LOVED the snow! When it started snowing today she kept pointing out the window and I would say, 'Its snowing" So we heard "snow, snow, Its' snowing" all before naptime. Trev promised to take her build a snowman after naptime and they did just that. I think she should have been born somewhere else besides texas because she doesn't seem to care about the cold. I was freezing to death and when asked if she wanted to come in "NOOOOOO" HA! The above picture really shows her delight. She is actally laughing at Duke running around in the snow as Trev was throwing snow balls at him. I have a video of that I will have to post because she is really belly laughing. She has seen snow before but was too little to play in it last year. She seriously would have played in it all day if we let her today! you will have to excuse her outfit. She doens't have any snow clothes and for a kids who refuses to wear jeans I had to do the best I could by layering. School has been called off for tomorrow. It would not be my choice because I would rather stay home in May but I guess I will take what I get and not throw a fit! Enjoy the pics.
Our house before Trev and Bailey trampled it all by playing

Sugie's first step in the snow. She wasn't sure at first but it only took a few seconds.

Hey mom? Can you believe this stuff?

Telling me something. I think about concern for Duke running around like a puppy.

My little mismatched eskimo

Throwing snowballs like daddy

Duke running in the snow. He had a blast too.

Helping daddy build the snowman. She kept saying, "ball, ball" and would pat the snow on to the "balls". She would also say, "Snow......Man" Not all together as one word but very seperated.

Daddy putting the final touches on the snowman

He is missing something....

Survivor snowman is finished. He is quite happy for winning immunity!

Great snowman Sugie and daddy!

I love weekends! :)

Wouldn't it be great if life could be full of weekends? HA! Anyway, I just thought I would blog some pics from the day. The weather is calling for snow tomorrow! I say BOOOOO but everyone else seems to be excited. I am more of a sunny weather girl so snow and staying inside all day just seems boring and no fun to me! Anyway, this morning after seeing the weather I thought I better get outside today before the "wintery weather" hits. So, I drug Trev out of bed and we headed over to the zoo. Like I said before I bought a membership and so we will be going often. I love the zoo and Sugie loves it too. I promise I will not make a long post everytime we go but I just can't believe how up close and personal we got to the animals today so I can't help but blog about it. (BTW, if I end up making a long post about the zoo everytime get over it. It is probably likely since there will be McKenzie's first trip to the zoo, etc. )
Can we go to the zoo mom? I will wear my hat!
I may have created a monster....Sugie wants to ride the carousel when we get to the zoo and when we leave. Do you think it is a coincidence that they put the carousel at the front of the zoo? Me think not! :) Thanks zoo designers. Now, I know good and well I could tell her no but it warms my soul to see her ride that thing!

Sugie petting the Giraffe

Daddy petting the giraffe

They were having "training time" with the cheetahs

They also have the lions come into this enclosure for "trianing time." I can't wait to see that next. :)

Hello Patrick the Gorilla. HAve you moved from the last time we saw you?

Proud Lion

Mama chimp and her baby eating fruit

Yes, the carousel once again...:)

Thanks for taking me to the zoo again mom!

Do you see what I see? It is one dusty saw dust girl with a hat on. 1) She loves to play in the garage while dad works 2) she loves to put hats on when it is her choice 3) she ends up dusty as all get out when she plays in the garage but I think it is nice and peaceful time for me in the house!

Trev is back to woodworking away. Bailey keeps him company in the garage by bringing in her stuffed animals.

Trev cleaned out one side of the garage for me to park in since it is winter and I HATE the cold so Sugie thinks it is a perfect spot to play!

She has been praticing at her tricyle but really will only push with one foot and not the other on the pedals and then just goes to pushing it with her feet on the ground.

I am not sure Trev had a trike track in mind when he thought of a good man cave but Oh well! Sugie likes it! HA!
