Bailey-roo

Here is my little kangaroo enjoying a nice spring evening in her pouch. This is my new Maya Wrap that I had been wanting and finally broke down and paid too much money for it. I am sure I could have gotten it on the streets of Guatamela for like $3. I won't tell you how much I paid for it but it somewhere more than that. :) I am tired of lugging that heavy car seat for a quick run in the store or being outside in the evenings. Since I am going to have her with me the last minutes of school I figure that it will be helpful for her to run errands with me around the school. There are a bunch of different carries you can do with the wrap....cradle carry, breastfeed carry, kangaroo carry, belly to belly carry, hip carrry. I am looking forward to the hip carry but she has got to get a little more head control before we can combat that one!

Flashback 31 years - Janet as a baby

So, my mom brought me these pics when Bailey was like a week old and I am just now getting around to scanning them in. I wish I would have done it sooner and been able to take pictures of Bailey in the same poses for a good comparison. :( oh well I will start now! I have put a few comparison pics

1 day old with mom....my hair appears to be pretty brown here like Bailey's

Bailey a few hours old with me

Melody and Me - 3 weeks

Melody and Bailey 3 weeks

Me 7 weeks

Bailey 7 weeks

Me snoozin at 3 months

Bailey snoozin at 3 months. I actually need to get a picture of Bailey asleep in her car seat because she looks like me more in the pic. She is sleeping as I write this so it is the best I can do.
Melody, Karen and Me...just for funnies to see my sisters

Me at 10 months - As you can see my hair was pretty blonde by this point and so was Trev's so I guess we will see what Bailey's hair does...

My 1st birthday!

I don't know how old I am in this pic but I am assuming a litte over one since it appears I am walking. Guess I will have to train Bailey to get the paper too! :)

Happy Spring!

The weather was beautiful today and we were glad to get to take our usual walk. Of course the bear had to sport her new hat and sunglasses. She really enjoys walks. She can ride in the big girl part of the stroller but prefers to still ride in her car seat attached. I am not sure if it is because she can see me that way or because I can shield her from the sun that way more. Hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful day! Spring time is my favorite time of year! I am glad that Bailey is here to enjoy it with us!

13 weeks

Well, after my post last week the majority of you think I should try and take a picture every week with the monkey so I am going to try and keep it up. Anyway, here is my bear at 13 weeks. She is just the sweetest most beautiful thing in the world! She is continuing to be a very happy baby. She was sleeping for 7 or 8 hours at a time however the last few nights she has decided she needs to eat at least 2 or 3 times in the night. She does guzzle and then goes back to sleep so I can't complain too much but I am hoping that this is just a growth spurt and will pass. Anyway, as you will see Bailey was not to happy once it was time to sit with the monkey today. :)

Surfing the net with mommy. Starting the addiction early!

I am 13 weeks and #1

I am 13 weeks old and much bigger than this silly monkey

I like this pic because you can see her chunky little thighs. :)

And the Monkey photo shoot is now OVER!!

I am 3 months old today!

Hello! It is Bailey here and I am 3 months old today! A lot has changed about me in 3 months but my mom tells me that you should already know that becasue a lot of people love me and keep up with my growth on this blog. I had a great day today. I woke up happy as usual and then my mommy took me to eat lunch with daddy. It was fun. I like to go to restaurants and look around. Then my mommy took me to the mall. I really like malls and enjoy them so much that I stay awake to make sure that mommy gets me cool stuff. Today I only managed to get a hat and some sunglasses. It is Spring here and really nice outside and we have been going on lots of walks and mommy said I needed a hat and sunglasses. We spent most of our shopping trip looking for the right size jeans for daddy. Apparently he is tall and thin and jeans are hard to find. Mom says I might end up with the same problem. Anyway, here are some pics of me. I told my mom no monkey today!
This isn't a great picture of me but mommy said we had to post it because daddy was smiling good!

Here I am with mommy at lunch. She takes me lots of cool places.

Here I am having tummy time. My mommy liked my blue eyes in this picture.

I still like my bumbo seat and I am getting stronger. I sit in it while my mommy is on the computer.

I really like my swing now. Especially at night when I am tired but not quite ready for bed.

Here I am having tummy time in my room. I like tummy time a lot but my mommy is really wanting me to roll over onto my back all by myself. I have done it once but haven't repeated it. I really don't see what all the fuss is about.

This is my best friend Duke. He spends lots of time with me especially when I play on the floor. He says not to worry that mommy makes him do "tricks" too and after 6 years he still can't roll over. He is 10 times as big as me but he is always gentle and sweet.
So, that is my day. I am glad I got to spend it with my mommy. She is talking about how she is going to go to work soon and that she is going to miss me. I think I am going to be ok as long as I got my suckey, my milk and someone to hold me, but I am not sure about my mommy. So, be nice to her in a few weeks. She says it isn't for long though and then it will be summmer and we get to go on vacation. It seems I should be excited about that so I am. Anyway, I am going to get off of here and see if my mom will let me watch some TV. It is fun to see a bunch of different people and talk to them. Anyway, gotta run.
Love,
Bailey Sugar Bear

1, 2, 3, prayers needed for 4 and 5

So, as previously posted me and all of my bridesmaids were pregnant at the same time. I thought it was time for a little update and also special prayers.

So.....

#1 Born: Bailey Marie was born on December 26, 2008 weighing 7 lbs 14 ounces and 19 3/4 inches

#2 Born: Brooklyn Welles born to Jenna (far left) on February 11 weighing 8 lbs 14 ounces and 21 inches

#3 Born: Samuel Clifford (the only boy!) born to Catharine (on my right) on March 11, 2009 weighing 8 lbs 7.8 ounces and 20.5 inches

and now we are waiting and praying for

#4 and #5 - You got it Missy (on my left) is pregnant with twin girls! Their names are Anne-Claire and Elise and they need your prayers. The twins have TTTS (Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome) and Elise has Placenta Insufficiency. They have had a procedure to help with the TTTS and it is showing positive results and the best medicine for PI is bed rest and concentration on nutrition. Please read more about it here http://holmesfamilyindiana.blogspot.com/ on Missy's blog so that I don't screw up all of the details. Anyway, I just know that these little ones are going to turn out just fine but they are going to need all of us rooting for them!

Time Warp

Time Warp adequately describes my life in the last 3 months. It isn't a bad thing but it is quite strange. I really feel like Bailey was just born yesterday yet it was 3 months ago. Trever will say things like man I need some laundry done and I will say, "I just did laundry a few days ago" uh no Janet it was over a week ago. A week? Really? Unbelievable! Ya, I don't make a very good housewife. I know. Trev knows. So, it is all OK. There are other things too. I will put Bailey down for a nap and then it seems like minutes go by and I hear her awake and think, man she sure didn't sleep long. Uh no Janet it has been 1 1/2 hours and in fact she is ready to eat. Really 1 1/2 hours? OK so I know I spend a lot of time on Facebook, email, and reading peoples blogs but hey I like it ok.

So, I guess I accept the Time Warp that I am in. It is really bitter sweet. One day I think I can't wait until Bailey is old enough to....and other days I think I want her back in her scrunched up little infant state. I know people will repsond to this saying enjoy it while they are small it goes by so fast. I know I know but does anyone really try not to enjoy it?

2 weeks from tomorrow I go back to work. I hope that my work days will go by fast! I am pretty sure that they will because I like my job and time usually goes by quickly while I am there. I also hope the 43 days that I have to work before summer goes by fast also. Of course then I will wish summer will last forever one day and then the next day will be tired of the heat and wish for fall. It is silliness.

I know that what will seem like tomorrow I will be writing about Bailey starting school, graduating, going to college, getting married, and having kids. We don't want any of this stuff to happen too fast for our babies but if Time stands still then it can't happen. So, for now I will try to enjoy every moment (even if it is at 2 am) with my precious little Bailey.

Going home form hospital...really? This was 3 months ago?

Bailey at 1 week. Really? This was 12 weeks ago? Newborn onesies were baggy?

Red Hair?

So, many of you have emailed and commented and asked if Bailey's hair is red. The truth is that in person it does not look red at all. I am going to once again blame it on my crappy camera. I think this picture shows what her hair color most closely looks like in person. By the way, the pic was not taken with my camera plus it is outside. I bet yall will be glad when I get a new camera! :)

12 weeks

Wow! 12 weeks! Back in COLD January I thought that warm March seemed so far away but now it just seems like yesterday. Bailey was making some funny faces this week for monkey pics. I had originally thought that I would take them every week for the 1st year but I don't know if I can keep this up for 40 more weeks. Maybe I should take them at the month milestones now? Anyway, I don't know. I will ponder on it more. I would probably enjoy it more if I had a better camera!

We have really been loving the warm weather and Bailey seems to like to be outside and going on walks. There are only 2 weeks left until I go back to work. I am actually feeling ok with it. I actually do miss teaching but I know that I will miss my Bailey bear too! We went to Ms. DD's house (babysitter) today to visit and Baiely seems relaxed there and happy in her arms. So that makes me feel good as well. Our plan is for DD to get her from me in the parking lot of school in the morning at 8 when she drops off her daughter. She also comes to pick her up in the afternoons and I am debating on whether I should go out to parking lot and get Bailey or go and pick her up after school. DD is in parking lot until 3:45 but I am technically suppose to work until 4 so I am not sure how people will feel about that. The way I see it is that if I don't get her from parking lot then I am going to be wanting to hit the door as soon as the clock strikes 4. If I get her from parking lot I can feed her and be with her and finish up my day and not be rushed and watching the clock. I think it will at least work until the end of school. I am so lucky to have found someone so perfect to watch her and really reduce the time that I will be away from her. I am hoping to only miss a couple of feedings but we will have to see how things go. I really think once again breastfeeding is the best thing in the world because even though I can put my milk in a bottle and someone else can give it to her no one but me can truely feed her and give her all the comfort that she needs. :)

Well I think I have rambled enough. It is another beautiful day and is going to be a beautiful weekend! I am looking forward to spending a lot of it outside! Yipee! Spring ROCKS!

Smiley squinty eyes?
Funny face and monkey get away!

Lately when I first lay Bailey by the monkey this is the look that she gets! :)

Trev says she looks like a cabbage patch kid when she sucks on her bottom lip so here we go! :)

Ready for Tree plantin'

I put these overalls on Bailey today and thought she was looking most cute. They were off by the afternoon because it was a WARM here today! Bailey sent her daddy an email today telling him that she is ready in her overalls to help him plant 63 trees this weekend. He said he was going to let her run the auger. We shall see about that. I think she will watch me plant some flowers and look cute. :)

Lunch with Brooklyn @ Brooklyn's

Bailey and I went and had lunch today with Jenna and Brooklyn. It was the first time that we had seen Brooklyn since she was born a little over a month ago. In her honor we went to Brooklyn's to eat. It was yummy. The little girls slept off and on like good little babies while the mommies talked. Thanks for coming to eat with us Brooklyn and Jenna.

Bad Parenting...TV monster

So I have decided to go ahead and start my bad parenting now and I have to admit that Bailey likes to watch TV. It is a sad state of affairs to set your 3 month old in front of the TV but hey she likes it and it helps me get things done like making myself breakfast. I promise I don't set her in front of it all day and I think it it is more the lights and sounds that she likes because it doesn't matter what is on. Here she is watching Good Morning America and taking in today's news.

Bailey's First Quasi Camping Trip

We were suppose to go camping this past weekend but the weather turned cold and rainy. My family braved the weather (well as much as you can in a camper) and so we went out on Saturday afternoon and evening. Bailey was all bundled up and seemed to enjoy her self.

Of course no outdoor adventure is complete without Duke the Dog

The Birth day Boy! It was also Davey's 6th birthday. It seems like just yesterday that I went to the hospital to hold him when he was born. I hope time does not fly as fast with Bailey but I know it will. Hope you had a great birthday Davey Boy!
